Key Additions: Brandon Knight, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Carlos Delfino, O.J. Mayo, Gary Neal, Luke Ridnour, Caron Butler, and Zaza Pachulia
Key Departures: Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis
Last season the Bucks were exactly who they were supposed to be; a team where Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis would take turns dominating the ball and taking all kinds of shots with little or no reguard for what happend afterwards. It turns out that that style fo play can get you the eighth spot in the east but no matter how many times you say you can beat the Miami Heat, you cannot beat the Miami heat as an eight seed. So last season they mad the playoffs but if your goal is to contend, this season will actually be more productive, if less successful, than last.
This will be a year for the Bucks to look and see what they really have on their roster and to evaluate what moves they need to make going forward to build a contender. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a topic of much discussion this preseason and with much cause as the youngster has shown incredible athleticism and flashes of amazing talent. There are still plenty of problems with this young Greek phenom as might be expected of any eighteen year old kid coming to a foreign country. He needs to get accustomed to the speed of an NBA game and needs to acquire full mastery of the language to take the next steps forward. Brandon Knight will have his chances this season to prove that he can be a point guard at the NBA level and how he preforms will have a large amount of bearing on what kind of future he is going to have with Milwaukee and what kind of moves they will be making both during and after this season. This team has a core of relatively talented veterans so they will be able to keep things respectable but there is really nothing to be excited about this season for Bucks fans except seeing the development of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the hope that he could morph into a star in this league. There is hope for the future however in John Henson and Larry sanders both coming back from solid performances last season. If they continue to develop and improve and Giannis Antetokounmpo does well this could be a team to watch in the next couple seasons.
