Key Additions: Otto Porter Jr., Eric Maynor, and Al Harrington

Key Departures: Emeka Okafor (season ending back injury)

This was supposed toe be the season that the Wizards found their way into the playoffs but injuries can destroy the best plans and Emeka Okafor being lost for probably the entire season as well as Chris Singleton missing two months with a broken foot Washington's playoff dreams might have to wait another year.

This off season was overall a pretty decent one for Washington. Otto Porter looked like a pretty NBA ready player in college and it will be exciting to see how he can bring his talents in and mesh with John Wall on both the offensive and defensive end. The biggest issue in their off season was the Wizards inability to stay healthy as key injuries decimated a roster which was supposed to have a great shot at making the playoffs. One of the biggest problems is going to be if anyone gets injured on this team there is essentially no cap room so the options will not be good to fill any hole and there is no way that Washington will be willing to pay the luxury tax for a team which will probably not make the playoffs.

The injury to Okafor, Washington's best defender, is going to cut them deep. As a team the Wizards are not going to put up a ton of points so a defense which should have rated in the top 8-10 with Okafor will have to find a way to be good even with out him. John Wall, on the offensive end, is going to have to learn to take care of the ball and increase his overall efficiency for this team to have success. He, in signing a five year extension, is essentially committed to this team for the long haul so it would behoove him to make the most out of the situation and do all that he can to make Washington look like an appealing destination for other big names in the not too distant future. All in all this season looks like another expensive playoff miss for the Wizards.

Projection 32-50
