NFL Week 5 Survivor Pick - 10/8/2015 Free NFL Analysis

Writer: Rob O'Connor

Week 5 of the NFL season is here and it is time to take a look at the best week 5 survivor picks.

After a very tough week 2 that saw many heavy favorites lose and knock many people out of survivor pools, things have settled down quite a bit in the past few weeks.

The major upsets have been avoided and those that escaped in week 2 should still be surviving.

The 1-3 Chiefs are heavily favored over the Chicago Bears and this may be a good spot to use the Chiefs, but I do not believe the Bears are a terrible football team. They have a powerful running back in Matt Forte and QB Jay Cutler is not as bad as people make him out to be. The return of Alshon Jeffrey should help the Bears stay competitive against a KC team that has struggled against the pass this year.

The Patriots are a big favorite on the road against the Dallas Cowboys. The Patriots are 3-0 and coming off a bye week, but many people probably used the Patriots a few weeks ago at home when they hosted Jacksonville.

The Packers a big home favorite against St. Louis and while there may be easier opponents for the Packers at home this year, it is a good spot to look at Green Bay. The Rams are going to be on the road for the 2nd straight week and are coming off of an emotional win against the Arizona Cardinals. This could be a bit of a let down spot for the Rams, who have already lost on the road to Washington. So the Packers will be my top play this week.

Also under consideration are the Baltimore Ravens. They have some extra rest coming into this game and Cleveland is coming from west to east for back to back road games. The Browns are not that good of a football team and the Ravens understand this is a must win game for them.

Good luck and hopefully you will survive and advance to week 6!
