Stephen F Austin has made a name for their program in the NCAA tournament in recent years, and even though it won’t be easy making a return trip, the Lumberjacks still bring back enough talent to make another push towards the Big Dance. SFA hasn’t been overly impressive so far this season standing 2-2 overall with a defeat coming in their last outing on the road against UL Monroe by a final of 72-77. Even SFA’s wins haven’t been impressive as the Lumberjacks barely got past Northeastern State and Longwood at home. The Lumberjacks have had their issues on the offensive end ranking 278th in the nation in scoring average.
The Arkansas Razorbacks are also hoping to make a push for the postseason this season, but that’s a lot easier said than done coming out of a conference that likely won’t get a lot of representation in the Big Dance this season. Arkansas has opened the year 4-1 overall with their one loss coming in a competitive matchup on the road against Minnesota. Arkansas has picked up some nice competitive wins at home this season against teams like IPFW and UT Arlington. Arkansas loves pushing the pace of play and this group ranks 50th in the nation in scoring average with Dusty Hannahs leading the team averaging 17 points per game.
Arkansas has a nice home court advantage that the Hogs have been using this season remaining unscathed at home thus far. SFA hasn’t looked impressive out of the gate and the Lumberjacks will get another tough test in this one. We like the Hogs to come through at home as they go on to win and cover the spread.
