UNC Wilmington could possibly put together the kind of resume needed for some at-large consideration come March, but to do that the Seahawks would have to wins games like this in the nonconference. UNCW brings back the bulk of talent to a team that went to the Big Dance a season ago and this group has gotten off to a nice start this year standing 7-1 overall with their only defeat coming against a strong MTSU squad. The Seahawks have been leaning heavily on their offense so far this season as this group ranks 12th in the nation in scoring average compared to 249th in total defense. Veteran Chris Felmmings has led the attack averaging 19.8 points per game.
Saint Bonaventure lose some key players from last year’s squad that got snubbed from the NCAA tournament, but this group remains a decent cog from the A-10 standing 6-2 overall coming into this challenge against the Seahawks. The Bonnies also favor pushing the pace of play as this group currently ranks 36th in the nation in scoring average compared to 219th in total defense. Saint Bonaventure’s defeats have come this season against Florida and Little Rock, and the Bonnies are currently riding a 4 game winning streak coming into this contest. Saint Bonaventure has been led by Adams and Mobley who’re averaging 23.4 and 21 points per game respectively.
This should be a really fun game to watch if you like offensive production as both of these units rank among the top teams in the nation in scoring average. We expect this to be a very competitive matchup and as a result we like the Seahawks getting the points as the better bet coming into this intriguing offensive matchup.
