UT Arlington is starting to play up to their high preseason expectations with recent resume building wins on the road against Texas and Saint Mary’s both by double figures. UT Arlington is one of the favorites to win the Sun Belt this season returning a lot of veteran talent to a team that found success last year. UT Arlington has been respectable on both sides of the ball against a challenging slate ranking around 100th in the nation in both scoring average and total defense. UTA has fallen this year in road matchups against Minnesota, FGCU, and Arkansas. The Mavericks play a lot of guys and Kevin Hervey has led the team averaging 13.5 points per game.
The Bradley Braves are hoping to be respectable this year in the competitive MVC, but that’ll be easier said than done for the Braves. Bradley has been a bit hit and miss at home this season and on the year the Braves stand 5-5 overall. In their last outing Bradley was able to snap out of their 2 game losing streak getting by an overmatched Chicago State by a final of 83-48. This was a nice bounce back result for Bradley who was coming off a 63-80 loss on the road against Ball State. Bradley ranks around 200th in the nation in scoring average and total defense and this group has been led by Darrell Brown who’s averaging 13.2 points per game.
UT Arlington is well traveled so far this season and the Mavericks have been showing very strong on the road as of late. Bradley is a bit overmatched coming into this contest and they’ll try to lean on their home court advantage to keep them competitive. We’ll side with UTA to come through again as they go on to win and cover the spread.
