SIU Edwardsville has been putting up some respectable results this season standing 4-3 overall coming off back to back wins against the likes of IUPUI and Grand Canyon. The win in their last outing against Grand Canyon was very impressive taking down arguably the top team in the WAC on the road in rather convincing fashion. The Cougars have been playing better as of late after putting up some weaker results in their three game losing streak in mid-November. SIUE has 4 players averaging in double figures scoring with Tre Harris leading the team averaging 13.9 points per game.
Indiana is coming off a huge emotional win at home against North Carolina beating the Tar Heels the other day by a final of 76-67. Indiana has picked up back to back wins on the heels of their upset loss on the road against Fort Wayne. Indiana has been largely dominant this season outside of their loss against the Mastodons and the Hoosiers have stepped up to play in their toughest matchups against Kansas and UNC. Indiana now stands 5-1 overall heading into December with a number of resume wins already under their belt. The Hoosiers have been led by veteran guard James Blackmon Jr. who’s averaging 19.2 points per game.
This is a game Indiana should be able to win rather easily, but it could be tough refocusing to the highest level coming off their win over North Carolina. SIU Edwardsville has shown some much better play as of late and the win on the road against Grand Canyon really stands out. We’ll cautiously side with the road team and the points as the best bet here.
