East Carolina hasn’t quite been living up to their billing so far this season and that’s had to do with their tremendous offensive struggles. East Carolina has been lethal at times on the defensive end however as this group ranks 15th in the nation in points allowed compared to just 325th in scoring average. East Carolina was dreadful in their last outing at home losing to Charleston by a final of 35-53 and it’ll be interesting to see how the Pirates bounce back on the offensive end in today’s matchup. ECU has been spreading the ball around with few guys stepping up on offense with Caleb White averaging 13.6 points per game to lead the way.
We were high on UNC Wilmington coming into the year and the Seahawks have been living up to our expectations standing 10-1 overall impressing on the offensive end ranking 7th in the nation in scoring average. UNCW brings back a veteran roster that could even push for an at-large bid to the Big Dance if they continue to put up the kind of results we’ve been seeing from the Seahawks thus far. UNCW loves to puss the tempo of play and in their last outing the Seahawks found a lot of success getting past Radford by a final of 100-64. Talented veteran guard Chris Flemmings leads the scoring averaging 18.1 points per game.
East Carolina is coming off a terrible offensive performance and it’ll be interesting to see if the Pirates can adapt today going against a press opponent. UNCW has been putting up some great results and we look for that trend to continue today as the Seahawks go on to win and cover this large spread.
