UC Davis stands 6-6 overall, but their overall record is inflated by the easier opponents they’ve faced thus far in the nonconference. UC Davis’ best win came against the likes of Santa Clara and that was all the way back during the first few days of the nonconference. In their last D1 matchup the Aggies came up just short on the road against North Dakota State losing to the Bison by a final of 70-74 in what continued a 4 game losing streak for the Aggies. UC Davis ranks between 200-250th in the nation in both scoring average and total defense with Chima Moneke leading the team averaging 14.7 points per contest.
Air Force is also standing 6-6 overall during the nonconference and the Falcons were impressive in a losing effort the other day falling to a talented Colorado squad by a final of 68-75 in a game that was very competitive. Air Force has had a tougher time as their nonconference slate got more challenging as the Falcons have won just 1 of their last 7 games. That one win was impressive however getting past Missouri State at home by a final of 83-70. Air Force has put up some respectable numbers this season ranking 80th in the nation in scoring average and 189th in total defense. Air Force spreads the ball around with 4 players averaging in double figures scoring.
Air Force doesn’t have the greatest home court advantage by any means, but it should aid their chances in today’s matchup against UC Davis. The Aggies are 2-3 on the road so far this season and even though UC Davis has the ability to challenge for the upset, we like the Falcons to come through at home coming off their competitive loss against Colorado as they go on to cover the spread.
