Oklahoma State has impressed so far this season on the offensive side of the ball standing 2nd in the nation in scoring averaging 98.9 points per contest. Oklahoma State brings in a new head coach this season to bring along a group that has a lot of offensive potential. The Cowboys have opened the year 6-1 overall with their only defeat coming against North Carolina out in Maui. Some of Oklahoma State’s better wins have come against UConn and Georgeton early on in the year. Oklahoma State has a lot of offensive weapons and Jawun Evans has made a huge impact leading the Cowboys averaging 24.7 points per game.
Maryland knows things are going to be a lot more difficult this season with just 1 starter returning from what was one of the best starting 5’s in the Big Ten a season ago. Maryland has opened the year 7-1 overall against adequate competition. Some of Maryland’s better wins have come against Georgetown, Towson, and Kansas State. In their last outing Maryland fell well short at home against Pitt losing to the Panthers by a final of 59-73. Maryland has been led by returner Melo Trimble who’s averaging 20.1 points per game.
We’re not all that high on this Maryland group and expect the Terps to find a lot of tough battles come Big Ten play. Oklahoma State has been very impressive this season on the offensive end and we like for the Cowboys to compete for the upset here just like Pitt was able to do earlier in the week as Oklahoma State goes on to cover the spread.
