Indiana State has tested themselves out of the gate and this group stands 3-4 overall with a record that doesn’t reflect how well this group has shown. In some of their defeats Indiana State came up just short at the end of competitive contests against opponents like Iowa State and Stanford. In their last outing the Sycamores were able to exact some revenge getting by Northern Illinois by a final of 63-52 after losing to the Huskies on the road to open the season. Indiana State expects to be a mid-tier MVC squad this season and this group has been led by Brenton Scott who’s averaging 19.3 points.
Utah State has been very inconsistent so far this season, but when the Aggies are playing to their ceiling they can compete with just about anyone. Utah State has one of the better home court advantages in the nation and that’ll be a big boost from the Aggies in this one. The Aggies have opened the year 4-3 overall and Utah State is desperate for a win coming off three straight losses against Purdue, Texas Tech, and BYU. In their last outing Utah State looked good early against rival BYU, but the Aggies fell apart as they went on to lose to the Cougars by a final of 63-77. Utah State has been led by top returner Jalen Moore who’s averaging 16 points per game.
Utah State has an incredible home court advantage which should be a huge difference maker in this one against the Sycamores. Indiana State has been battle tested so far this season, but not in an environment like this. We like for Utah State to play a complete 40 minutes as they build enough of a lead to cover this spread.
