The Kansas Jayhawks put up some solid results during the nonconference standing 11-1 overall with their only defeat coming in their opener on a neutral site in OT against Indiana. Kansas has shown some great pop on the offensive side of the ball this season ranking 16th in the nation in scoring average as well as 93rd in total defense. Some of the Jayhawks better wins have come against teams like Duke, Georgia, Stanford, and Davidson, among others. In their last outing Kansas came through on the road against UNLV picking up the win by a final of 71-53. Kansas has strengths on both sides of the ball and veteran Frank Mason has led the way averaging 19.7 points per game.
TCU hasn’t faced quite as tough a slate as Kansas so far this season, but the Horned Frogs have also looked very impressive standing 11-1 overall heading into Big 12 action. TCU dominated action again in their last outing getting past Bradley by a final of 74-42. TCU has picked up some nice nonconference wins against teams like Illinois State, Washington (2), and Arkansas State. TCU has been putting in the effort on both sides of the ball ranking 63rd in the nation in scoring average and 32nd in total defense. The Horned Frogs spread the ball around with 5 players averaging at least 9 points per game and Alex Robinson has led the way averaging 10.8 points per game.
This is a great proving grounds game for TCU as they try and upend the conference leaders in their Big 12 opener. TCU has been dominating action at home so far this season, but this’ll be a big step in competition for the Horned Frogs. We like for TCU to keep things competitive as they go on to cover this spread.
