The Bowling Green Falcons got off to a slow start to the year losing 4 straight out of the gate, but the Falcons have been getting back on track against some more manageable competition as of late now standing 3-4 heading into this tough matchup. Bowling Green’s one standout win thus far came at home against Murray State by a final of 78-77. The Falcons are 0-2 on the road losing at Oakland and South Dakota. Bowling Green is expected to finish in the lower tier of the MAC East this season, but this group at least has the players to compete on a nightly basis in the wide open league. Wes Alcegaire leads the Falcons averaging 12.6 points per game.
The Cincinnati Bearcats picked up a huge win for their resume in their last outing as Cincinnati upset Iowa State on the road in OT by a final of 55-54. Anytime you can get a win in Ames you’re heading in the right direction as a team. Cincinnati has some key veteran pieces who really help when in a tough road atmosphere. The Bearcats are all about their defense as this group ranks 8th in the nation in points allowed compared to 200th in scoring average. Jacob Evans and Kyle Washington have been the offensive leaders averaging 16.9 and 16.3 points per game respectively.
Cincinnati has a strong home court advantage and if their defense brings the kind of intensity they showed against Iowa State then the Falcons are going to have a tough time finding buckets. We like for Cincinnati to gradually outpace the Falcons on the scoreboard as they go on to win and cover this large spread.
