The Florida Gators have impressed so far this season against steady competition standing 7-1 overall with their only defeat coming in a competitive matchup against Gonzaga. In their last outing Florida went on to road to North Florida and went on to pick up the win in impressive fashion by a final of 91-60. This was the first true road test for the Gators this season and they passed with flying colors. The Florida program seems headed in the right direction after disappointing a season ago and this group has built off of their defense which ranks 46th in the nation in points allowed.
The Duke Blue Devils have gone against some tough teams so far this season standing 8-1 overall with nice resume building victories coming against the likes of Kansas, Penn State, Rhode Island, and Michigan State. In their last outing Duke got by Maine at home by a final of 94-55, but things figure to get tougher for the Blue Devils here heading into the neutral site matchup. Duke had a ton of hype coming into the year and this group has been trying to live up to those expectations standing 21st in the nation in scoring average and 43rd in total defense. Veteran Luke Kennard has led the offensive attack putting up 19.4 points per game.
This is shaping up to be a great measuring stick game for both of these teams as we head into the middle portion of the nonconference. We’ve really liked the improvement Florida has shown us so far this season and on the neutral site we like for the Gators to stay competitive enough to get the cover in a game they could push for the upset.
