Indiana State has gone against a very challenging slate so far this season, and this group is better than their 6-10 overall record might suggest. Indiana State has a number of competitive defeats against quality opposition, while also picking up wins back during the nonconference against teams like Butler at home and Utah State on the road. Indiana State hasn’t been able to put everything together in conference play thus far, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Sycamores turn things around going forward. Indiana State is led by one of the top players in the MVC with Brenton Scott who’s averaging 18.7 points per game.
Drake hasn’t faced the same kind of challenges as Indiana State so far this season, and the Bulldogs still have a worse record standing 4-12 overall. The Bulldogs are coming off one of their better results of the year thus far as Drake came through the other day at home against Evansville by a final of 88-76. Drake is the worst defensive team in the MVC ranking 280th in the nation in points allowed and it’ll be interesting to see how the Bulldogs are able to slow down Indiana State’s attack this evening. Drake has been led by Reed Timmer who’s averaging 16.6 points per game.
Indiana State has had some tough luck losses in conference play thus far losing in OT on the road against both Missouri State and Southern Illinois back to back. Indianan State has shown the ability to put up solid results on the road throughout the regular season and we like the Sycamores to come through today against one of the lesser teams in the MVC as they go on to cover the spread.
