The UConn Huskies came through for us the other day at home beating back Temple by a final of 73-59. The Huskies have been one of the bigger disappointments in college basketball this season, but that doesn’t mean this group can’t still be competitive against solid competition when playing up to their talent level. UConn is coming off back to back wins by double figures in the AAC and that gives the Huskies some confidence and momentum coming into this road test. UConn has shown they can compete on the road as well winning at LMU and nearly upsetting Ohio State in Columbus during the nonconference. Jalen Adams leads this offense averaging 15.2 points and 6.2 assists per game.
Georgetown has shown flashes of solid play this season, but the Hoyas have also been frustratingly inconsistent standing 9-8 overall and 1-4 in the Big East. Georgetown has even been susceptible to defeats on their home court standing just 6-4 overall at home this season. The Hoyas were able to snap out of their 4 game losing streak in their last outing showing up to take down Saint John’s by a final of 83-55 in what was one of the best results of the year for Georgetown. The Hoyas have favored playing at a faster pace this season ranking 87th in the nation in scoring and this unit has been led by guard Rodney Pryor who’s averaging 18.2 points per game.
This should be a fun matchup between two teams that used to have their fair share of battles in the old Big East. UConn is building some momentum coming off two quality wins at home and we like for the Huskies to continue to fight today as they push the Hoyas and cover this rather large spread on the road.
