Kansas State had a big proving grounds game in their last outing at home against Baylor, but the Wildcats came up short losing to the Bears by a final of 68-77. K-State has shown they can compete in tough road atmospheres pushing Kansas and Texas Tech in defeats that Kansas State lost by a combined 3 points. The Wildcats likes to play off of their defense as Kansas State stands 17th in the nation in points allowed and 148th in scoring average. The Wildcats have a tremendously balanced offensive attack with 6 players averaging between 9-13 points per game.
Oklahoma State is in desperate need of a resume building win as the Cowboys have been unable to get things going in conference play standing 10-7 overall and 0-5 in the Big 12. Oklahoma State is one of the faster paced teams in the conference ranking 8th in the nation in scoring average putting up 88.1 points per game, while ranking just 316th in total defense. Oklahoma State has lost 5 straight, but they’ve been very competitive in most of their defeats. In their last outing the Cowboys competed well on the road against Kansas losing to the Jayhawks by a final of 80-87. Oklahoma State is led by Jawun Evans who’s averaging 18.2 points per game.
This is getting to be a last stand effort for Oklahoma State as they try and get back on track in Big 12 play. Oklahoma State needs to take care of business at home going forward if they want to have a shot at cracking the NCAA tournament. We like an inspired Oklahoma State group to come through today at home as they go on to win and cover the spread.
