This veteran Chattanooga squad has put together some strong showing so far this season standing 10-3 overall and 1-0 in conference with their SoCon opener coming in a 64-48 win on the road against Western Carolina. Chattanooga is one of the favorites to win the SoCon this season and it would be a shame if this group was unable to get back to the NCAA tournament this year, but it won’t be easy in what is an up year for the league. The Mocs rank around 70th in the nation in both scoring and total defense and this group has been led by Tre’ McLean who’s averaging 14.1 points per game.
UNC Greensboro have opened conference play 1-1 overall with their opening win coming on the road against Citadel in a competitive matchup followed by a 62-73 defeat coming at home against Samford the other day. UNC Greensboro put up some respectable results during the nonconference and this group currently stands 10-5 overall coming into this tough matchup against the Mocs. The Spartans don’t mind playing in the half court as this group ranks 67th in the nation in total defense and 164th in scoring average. The offense is balanced with 4 guys averaging between 10-13 points per game.
Chattanooga showed their worth on the road in their conference opener and this is another winnable game for the top team in the conference. UNCG came up well short in their last outing at home with their offense failing to find buckets. Take the veteran Mocs to come through as they go on to win and cover the spread.
