After getting off to a hot start in conference play, Nebraska has cooled off a bit falling to the middle of the pack in the Big Ten standing 9-9 overall and 3-3 in conference. Nebraska is coming off yet another competitive defeat as the Huskers fell the other day at home to Ohio State by a final of 66-67. Nebraska has performed well on the road in Big Ten play winning at Maryland and Indiana, while also losing at Michigan by just 6 points. The Huskers have been showing growth as a developing roster this season and this squad has been led by veteran Tai Webster who’s stepped up to average 18.3 points per game.
Rutgers put up some respectable results back during the nonconference, but the Scarlet Knights haven’t been able to find traction in the Big Ten now standing 11-8 overall and 0-6 in conference. Rutgers was throttled in their last outing losing to Indiana on the road by a final of 57-76 and the Scarlet Knights are 0-2 at home in Big Ten play losing to Penn State and Northwestern. Rutgers tries to slow down the pace of play given their offensive deficiencies as the Scarlet Knights rank 14th in the conference in scoring compared to 3rd in total defense.
Nebraska is now riding a 3 game losing streak after getting off to a red hot start in the Big Ten, but at least the Huskers have been very competitive during their recent skid. If the Huskers hope to be a factor in the Big Ten then these are the types of road matchups Nebraska needs to win on the road. We like Nebraska to get back on track today as they go on to win and cover the spread.
