The Quinnipiac Bobcats have quietly been putting together a solid campaign thus far in MAAC play as the Bobcats now stand 5-4 in conference coming off back to back wins against Iona and Canisius. Quinnipiac showed at home that they could hang with this Iona offensive attack as the Bobcats went on to beat the Gaels by a final of 97-91. Practically all of Quinnipiac’s results in MAAC play have been in competitive results with their only convincing loss coming at Monmouth back in December. The Bobcats do a great job on the boards to boost their offensive production as Quinnipiac ranks 38th in the nation in rebounding and 108th in scoring average.
Iona had a tough time putting Fairfield away in their last outing at home as the Gaels went on to beat the Stags by a final of 96-89. Iona hasn’t been as consistent as we’d like to see in the MAAC as the Gaels currently stand 5-4 in conference for a team that was one of the preseason favorites to push for the MAAC regular season title. The Gaels have been showing progress on the offensive side of the ball really picking thing up over the past couple of weeks to improve to 55th in the nation in scoring average. Iona has one of the best players in the conference with big man Jordan Washington who’s averaging 18.6 points per game.
Quinnipiac has been overlooked in the MAAC this season, but the Bobcats continue to put up respectable results both at home and on the road in league play. This is a revenge game for Iona against the Bobcats, and even though we like the Gaels to get the win, we feel the betting value side with Quinnipiac and the points.
Quinnipiac +9.5 -110
