The Florida Gators took a step back recently losing back to back against South Carolina and Vanderbilt, but the Gators were able to right the ship in their last outing getting past LSU on the road by a final of 106-71. This was an impressive offensive performance from Florida who should now be coming into this road matchup against the Sooners with a lot of confidence. Florida has been one of the better performers in the SEC this season standing 15-5 overall and 6-2 in conference and the Gators bring effort on both ends ranking 70th in the nation in scoring and 60th in total defense. Florida goes about 9 guys deep with KeVaughn Allen leading the way averaging 13.9 points per game.
The Oklahoma Sooners were supposed to take a step back this year given the talent they lost this past offseason, but even this group has disappointed standing 8-11 overall and 2-6 in conference. Oklahoma has seen an uptick as of late picking up recent wins against Texas Tech and West Virginia, but the Sooners are now riding a two game losing streak falling in back to back games against Iowa State and Texas. Oklahoma has gotten veteran guard Jordan Woodard back in the lineup which has been a boost and Woodard is leading the team averaging 17.3 points per game. Oklahoma doesn’t mind playing some pace ranking 97th in the nation in scoring compared to 258th in total defense.
Florida looked dominant in their last outing on the road against LSU, but this matchup on the road against Oklahoma figures to be a tougher test for the Gators. Florida has shown they can perform on the road this season winning in 4 true road settings up to this point and we like the Gators to push the Sooners today as they go on to cover the spread.
