The Stanford Cardinal haven’t gotten off to the kind of start they were hoping for under their new coaching staff as this group currently stands 11-9 overall and 3-5 in conference. Stanford’s conference wins have all come against the lower tier teams in the Pac 12 taking down Washington State, Washington, and Oregon State. In their last outing Stanford fell to Oregon on the road by a final of 52-69 in what was another less than impressive offensive showing from the Cardinal. Stanford is forced to slow things down given their offensive deficiencies as the Cardinal rank 281st in the nation in scoring average and 91st in total defense.
The Cal Golden Bears have shown the ability to play at a high level against some of the better teams they’ve faced this season, but Cal has also had a tough time completely separating in their wins against the lower tier competition they’ve faced. Cal has the talent to make the NCAA tournament, but this group still has work to do to get into the Big Dance. The Golden Bears are a defensive minded group all the way as Cal ranks 18th in the nation in points allowed compared to 264th in scoring average. Returning forward Ivan Rabb has led the offensive attack as the big man is putting up 15.1 points per game on average.
This is a great rivalry matchup and this should boost the home crowd advantage that Cal will bring into today’s contest. Stanford showed an uptick in their plat recently as they went against some of the weaker teams in the league, but the Cardinal will get challenge in this one. We like Cal to outpace the Cardinal in this lower scoring affair as they go on to win and cover the spread.

agree California wins this game at home but the 7.5 points are pushing me to my limit -- Stanford buried in the PAC 12 and with an Oregon loss last night California thinking can Arizona be next -- 3 losses in PAC 12 keeps them within striking distance of Conference lead -- I'll swallow the points and keep my fingers crossed tight -
