Oklahoma State didn’t get off to an ideal start in conference play, but the Cowboys have righted the ship as of late winning three straight to improve to 13-8 overall and 2-6 in conference. In their last outing Oklahoma State held the banner well for the Big 12 getting past Arkansas by a final of 99-71. Oklahoma State’s last three wins have all come by double digits and in their last road game the Cowboys went on to beat Texas Tech by a final of 83-64. With their recent uptick in play Oklahoma State is starting to creep back into the bubble conversation, but the Cowboys still have a lot of work left to do. This powerful offensive squad ranks 5th in the nation in scoring average.
The Oklahoma Sooners have also had their issues in the Big 12, but this was a bit more expected given the results the Sooners put together during the nonconference. Oklahoma has taken a big step back this season after losing a lot of veteran talent this past offseason and the Sooners currently stand just 8-12 overall and 2-6 in conference. In their SEC matchup the Sooners didn’t fare quiet as well as the Cowboys as Oklahoma went on to lose to Florida at home by a final of 52-84. Oklahoma had a recent uptick in their play winning 2 straight in the Big 12, but the Sooners have fallen back again now losing their last 3 straight.
This is always a fun rivalry game to watch and Oklahoma wouldn’t mind playing spoiler here to their in-state foe. Oklahoma State has been heading back in the right direction and showing much better not just of the offensive end, but also with their defense. We like Oklahoma State to build off of their recent success as they go on to cover the spread in this one.
