Cincinnati has been one of the more impressive teams in the American so far this season standing 12-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play. In their last outing the Bearcats dominated action as Cincinnati went on to beat Tulane at home by a final of 92-56. Cincinnati is riding a 5 game winning streak and the Bearcats have really been building off of some impressive offensive performances as of late now ranking 57th in the nation in scoring average and 19th in total defense. On the offensive end the Bearcats can spread the ball around to a number of threats and Jacob Evans has led the attack averaging 15.4 points per contest.
The Houston Cougars haven’t gone against the most taxing schedule so far this season, but the Cougars have still been very solid standing 13-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play. In their last outing Houston had a fight on their hands at home against Tulsa pulling out the win in the end by a final of 64-61. The Cougars lost their prior home meeting against a strong defensive opponent in Harvard by a final of 56-57. Houston has been building off of their defense ranking 21st in the nation in points allowed and 102nd in scoring average. Houston has been led by Rob Gray who’s averaging an impressive 20.4 points per contest.
Houston has been putting up some respectable results so far this season and this’ll be a good measuring stick game for the Cougars as they go against arguably the best team in the AAC. Cincinnati has shown they can get the job done on the road this season and we like the veteran Bearcats to come through as they go on to win and cover the spread.
