George Mason is ahead of schedule in terms of their progress as a younger team and the future looks bright for this squad. George Mason has been putting up some solid results this season both at home and on the road standing 11-4 overall and 1-1 in the A-10. In their last outing the Patriots came through at home against UMass beating the Minutemen by a final of 86-81 and the Patriots have been building momentum winning 10 of their last 11. The Patriots put in work on both sides of the ball ranking around 130th in the nation in both scoring average and total defense. George Mason has been led by Marquise Moore who’s averaging 17.9 points per game.
Saint Bonaventure lost some of their key contributors from last year’s squad that got snubbed from the Big Dance, but this group remains a big threat on the offensive side of the ball ranking 22nd in the nation in scoring average compared to 301st in total defense. The Bonnies are coming off a poor home performance where Saint Bonaventure fell to Dayton by a final of 74-90. Defense has been a concern for the Bonnies as this group ranks 13th in the A-10 in points allowed. The Bonnies have fallen in two straight home game with their other defeat coming against Canisius. Saint Bonaventure is led by Jaylen Adams who’s been tremendous averaging 23.4 points per game.
Saint Bonaventure has proven they can put up some big offensive numbers, but the question remains if the Bonnies can stop anyone on the other end. George Mason has proven they can get the job done on the road with a number of their recent road wins and we like the Patriots to keep things competitive in this one as they go on to cover the spread.
