The Marist Red Foxes aren’t going to challenge for the MAAC title, but this group has been decent in conference play thus far standing 2-3 overall in the MAAC. Marist broke out of their losing streak recently taking down Manhattan at home by a final of 90-88, but the Red Foxes fell short in their last outing losing to Rider by a final of 62-73. Marist has been competitive thus far in conference, but this’ll be a tough challenge for the road team as they take on the best squad in the MAAC. Marist ranks 270th in the nation in scoring average and this unit has been led by Khallid Hart who’s averaging 16.1 points per contest.
Monmouth came through for us the other day at home against Iona as the Hawks went on to win in impressive fashion by a final of 92-74. Monmouth hasn’t been nearly as consistently dominant as we were expecting to see this season and the Hawks are just coming off of a recent 3 game losing streak with conference losses coming against Rider at home and Saint Peter’s on the road. Monmouth has been beatable on the defensive end, but this group is still putting up respectable offensive numbers ranking 2nd in the conference in scoring average putting up 80.1 points per game. Justin Robinson leads the attack averaging 17.7 points per game.
Monmouth hasn’t proven to be that consistent dominating threat that we saw out of them much of last season and this is a lot of point for this group to lay today at home. Marist has been competitive throughout MAAC play thus far, even picking up two conference wins and we like the Red Foxes getting the points as the best value bet in this contest.
