The Wisconsin Badgers have been strong so far this season standing 13-2 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten with their only defeats coming away from home against the likes of Creighton and UNC. Wisconsin has opened conference play beating Rutgers at home followed by an excellent 75-68 win on the road against Indiana. This veteran Badger squad has shown the ability to play with composure in tough road environments, but today won’t be easy going against one of the other top teams in the conference. Wisconsin plays off of their defense as the Badgers rank 8th in the nation in points allowed as well as 108th in scoring average. Bronson Koenig leads this balanced offensive attack averaging 14.3 points per game.
The Purdue Boilermakers are another squad that has the pieces to make a push for the Big Ten regular season title and Purdue has been solid so far this season standing 13-3 overall and 2-1 in conference. Purdue has shown to be more of an offensive threat this season ranking 24th in the nation in scoring average as well as 62nd in total defense. In their last outing Purdue came through on the road against Ohio State beating the Buckeyes by a final of 76-75. In their last home contest the Boilermakers surprisingly fell to Minnesota by a final of 82-91. Caleb Swanigan leads this potent attack averaging 18.3 points per game.
This is a must watch today as two of the top teams in the Big Ten go head to head in West Lafayette. Purdue came up short in their last outing at home, but that likely won’t be the case much more this season as the Boilermakers try to put together a Big Ten title run. Behind their elite home court advantage we like Purdue to come through as they go on to win and cover.
