South Alabama had a promising start to the regular season, but this group has level out a bit standing 8-7 overall and 1-1 in conference. South Alabama likes to play off of their defensive effort as the Jaguars rank 91st in the nation in total defense compared to 239th in scoring average. In a conference that has a lot of higher scoring teams the Jaguars play at a different pace ranking 2nd in the conference in points allowed. South Alabama came up just short in their last outing on the road losing to Georgia State by a final of 77-78. The Jags have been trending down winning just 2 of their last 8 games. South Alabama spreads the ball around with 4 players averaging between 10-12 points per game.

We’ve liked the potential of this Georgia Southern squad and the Eagles look like they could be one of the top threat s to make a push for the Sun Belt regular season title. Georgia Southern likes to get up and down the court ranking 63rd in the nation in scoring average compared to 179th in total defense. Georgia Southern tested themselves a lot on the road during the nonconference and that should pay dividends for this group in the Sun Belt. The Eagles came through again in their last outing at home beating a strong Troy squad by a final of 86-82. This win was on the heels of an excellent 88-65 win over Georgia State. Georgia Southern has been led by Ike Smith who’s been one of the top players in the Sun Belt averaging 19.5 points per contest.

Georgia Southern is heading in the right direction right now and the Eagles have been building momentum through the start of conference play. South Alabama should have their hands full in this one on the road and it’ll be interesting to see how they compete. We like the home team to stay hot on the offensive end as they go on to win and cover the spread.

I am not looking at this game, but I am going to use this as the posting board for the National championship game tonight which involves both of my alma mater's. I am die hard Alabama and got my undergraduate there. I got my Master's from Clemson. Both great schools. Curious to hear what everyone thinks about this game and the total. Game fluctuating between 6.5 and 7. Total of 51. Let's hear it guys, what do you got. Honestly, my personal opinion is Bama covers 7 and goes under the total of 51. what say you onetrikpony?

We like Ala -6.5 and lean under 51.5 total will probably go up a tick by kickoff however my casino contact whose opinion I hold in high regard says Clemson wins outright which puts me in a quandary.Since you asked i will post my bet on football around 7:30 if i mess with this game at all

even with what I consider a lot of points at 7.5 I'll swallow them here and stay with the 2-0 Conference and 9-6 overall Georgia Southern Eagles --South Alabama 1-1 in Conference and 8-7 overall is not impressive -- the 7.5 points may be a close one as the Eagles win by 9 or so ?
