Saint Peter’s loves to slow things down into the half court and lean on their defense for success as this group stands 65th in the nation in points allowed compared to 304th in scoring. The Peacocks aren’t the same threat they were last year, but this group can still be a thorn in the side of their opposition, especially in a league like the MAAC where most teams like to play at a fast pace. Saint Peter’s sits in the middle of the MAAC standing 8-7 overall and 2-2 in conference. Canisius shares the ball well and the Golden Griffins have been another one of the half court oriented groups in the MAAC ranking 233rd in the nation in scoring, 55th in assists, and 118th in total defense. The Golden Griffins have gotten off to a nice start to league play standing 9-8 overall and 3-1 in conference with some of their better wins coming at home against the likes of Rider and Iona. Canisius has the higher offensive ceiling and the Golden Griffins have been strong at home in MAAC play. We like Canisius to come through as they go on to cover the spread.
