Southern California has been one of the bigger disappointments in college basketball this season, but the Trojans are starting to show some signs of life winning 5 out of their last 6 games including a nice 80-62 win on the road against Cal in their last outing. USC has the talent to be a huge threat come postseason play, but the Trojans also need to build up their resume enough to get consideration to make the Big Dance. USC has been progressing on the offensive end ranking 49th in the nation in scoring compared to 204th in total defense. Stanford is another group that’s been a disappointment standing 7-8 overall, but the Cardinal struggles haven’t been as publicized given their relatively lower expectations than USC coming into the season. After losing to home to rival Cal the Cardinal bounced back in their last outing taking down UCLA by a final of 107-99 in what was an offensive explosion for Stanford. This will likely be a competitive matchup, but we like USC to come through on the road again today, building off of their Cal win, as the Trojans go on to cover the spread.
