Arkansas is battle their way around the bubble picture of the NCAA tournament at this point in the year, and to stay on the right side of making the Big Dance, these are the kind of games the Hogs need to continue to win. Arkansas was able to handle their business this past week at home getting past South Carolina and Vanderbilt in convincing fashion to improve to 17-8 overall and 6-6 in conference. Arkansas has been one of the better offensive teams in the SEC ranking 29th in the nation in scoring.
Ole Miss has fallen back in the SEC standing losing 7 of their last 8 games now sitting 11-14 overall and 4-8 in conference. During this stretch Ole Miss has been all over the map in terms of taking blowout losses as well as competitive defeats. A few weeks back Ole Miss was respectable on the road against Arkansas falling to the Razorbacks in a high scoring affair by a final of 93-97. Ole Miss doesn’t mind playing with tempo, but the Rebels rank worse than the Hogs on both sides of the ball.
Ole Miss has no chance at making the NCAA tournament meaning their remaining regular season games aren’t as important as they will be for Arkansas. Although this will be another tricky road test for the Hogs in conference, we like Arkansas to come through as they go on to cover the spread.
