The Penn Quakers were highly impressive in their outing yesterday against the red hot Yale Bulldogs as Penn picked up the win by a final of 80-57. Penn has been the best overall team in the Ivy this year from start to finish standing 23-8 overall and 12-2 in conference. Penn has strengths on both sides of the ball as the Quakers stand 91st in the nation in scoring and 95th in total defense with a positive plus/minus of over 7 points.
The Harvard Crimson weren’t as good as the Quakers back during the nonconference, but Harvard got things going in conference play now standing 18-12 overall and 12-2 in the Ivy. Harvard was also highly impressive in their semifinal matchup taking down Cornell by a final of 74-55. Harvard split with Penn during the regular season with the home team winning in each instance. The Crimson stand 296th in the nation in scoring compared to 44th in total defense with a plus/minus of about a point.
Penn has been the best team in the Ivy League this season based on their overall results and stats. Although we expect a highly competitive final, Penn feels like the better value to cover as they play on their home court at The Palestra.
