Things haven’t been trending in the right direction for Hawaii as they head into the third year under head coach Rolovich in what is expected to be another tough season after a disappointing 2017. I still think Rolovich can get the job done in Hawaii and we saw glimpses of great play back during year 1 where the team went 7-7. The transfer of QB Dru Brown hurts and the defense will likely continue to be a weakness in 2018. Speaking of poor defensive play, Colorado State was downright awful at times during 2017 and 2018 will see a transition going to the 4-3 with some growing pains likely. The big get for Colorado State was bringing in grad transfer QB K.J. Carta-Samuels and his talent could be enough to get the Rams bowling again in 2018. There’s a lot of question marks surrounding Hawaii coming into the year and playing week 0 might not give this group enough time to iron things out before heading on the road. We like Carta-Samuels to leverage his veteran experience and athleticism as he leads Colorado State to the win and cover.
