Overview: Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and the rest of the New England Patriots kick off their defense of the AFC East this season with the same high expectations they seem to now have every season. Much has been made lately about the supposed declining skill set of Brady and his "low" completion percentage of 60.5 percent from last season but there is reason to think that New England will have a great season on offense this season. It is hard to overestimate the difference having Rob Gronkowski back in the lineup will have giving Brady a constant mismatch over the middle. The presence of Gronk in the lineup will also give Danny Amendola and Aaron Dobson more room to operate.
Defensively the Patriots look like they have significantly upgraded what was already a fairly solid unit. The signing of Darrelle Revis will definitely help them in the secondary which should be a major strength for New England this season. The Pats defensive line could easily be another strength as they are a solid young group lead by Chandler Jones who is coming off an 11.5 sack season. Look for this unit to feast on division foes that include inexperienced young quarterbacks like Ryan Tannehill, Geno Smith, and E.J. Manuel.
