Week 5 NFL Survivor Picks - 10/1/2014 Free NFL Analysis

Well Week 4 has come and gone in for survivor pool players. Those that went with the top pick Chargers live to play another week. For those that grabbed the Colts, you survived, but those on another big favorite the Steelers lost out on a last second Tampa Bay touchdown.

Anf finally our outside the box survivor pool pick moved to 2-1 on the season as the 49ers beat the Eagles in San Francisco.

In Week 5 my top play is the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night. Play them on Thursday against the Vikings coming off a short week and a questionable Teddy Bridgewater at QB. The Packers are currently about 9 point favorites. If you grab the Packers Thursday and they take care of business, you can root for some upsets on Sunday to knock fellow competitors out. However a lot of you may have used the Packers at home in week 2 against the Jets.

Another strong play for Sunday would be the Saints. Yes, the Saints looked horrible on Sunday night at Dallas, but they never play well on the road, expect them to get back on track at home against the Bucs on Sunday. However, many of you may have used the Saints in Week 3 when they faced the Vikings at home and they may not be available for you to select.

The outside the box pick for this week is the Detroit Lions. They are favored by a touchdown, so not the biggest favorite on the board and they won't be as popular as home favorite Denver or San Diego, also each favored by a TD (but chances are you may have used Den and/or San Diego already)

The Lions will be playing a Bills team with a new QB. The Lions are a very good home football team and after beating the Packers at home two weeks ago, they should be able to take care of the Bills and move to 4-1.

Good luck and hopefully you will survive and make it back here next week for more survivor pool advice.
