The San Francisco 49ers come into this season looking to forget what was a tumultuous 2014 season that saw discord between the head coach and the front office in addition to reports that there was a massive disconnect between Harbaugh and the players themselves.
Preview: The 49ers made a seemingly much needed coaching change in the offseason as they elevated defensive line coach Jim Tomsula to the head coaching position in hopes that a regime change can get this team back to where it was before the disappointments of last season. After a very down year last year Colin Kaepernick will be looking to bounce back to form and says he is coming into camp feeling that the best is still yet to come for him. The 49ers let Frank Gore leave via free agency in the off season and will be leaning on Carlos Hyde to be there main RB with Reggie Bush there to help in all the ways he can whether running or catching out of the backfield.
Defensively the 49ers look quite diminished as they have had players leave to retire and players still being kept off the field thanks to off the field issues. Justin Smith and Ray McDonald are both currently out of football, one due to retirement and one due to off the field issues, and new draft picks and free agent signees will be looked to step up and fill the holes on the defensive line. In the secondary the 49ers are looking pretty weak overall with both last season’s starting CBs no longer with the team.
Projected Record: 5-11
