The Seattle Seahawks come into this season still looking like one of the best teams in the league after coming up literally just short of a Super Bowl win last year. The Seahawks seem to have shaken off that season ending interception at the goal line and have made some big resigning and gotten healthy in preparation to have a shot at making it to their third straight Super Bowl.
Preview: On offense Seattle is looking very strong once again as they resigned Russell Wilson long term giving them continued stability at the QB position and kept plenty of weapons around him. The Seahawks kept Marshawn Lynch from departing in the offseason and with the addition of Jimmy Graham Seattle might actually end up having a pretty good passing game. The only real concern that I see with the Seahawk’s offense is Graham’s ability to effectively block and help out the running game when necessary and I think that is a job he can dedicate himself to in the preseason and be ready to clear the way for Lynch when the regular season rolls around.
Defensively the Seahawks are still looking like one of the best units in the league as the core is returning in both the defensive line and the linebacker areas leaving the only real concern as the secondary. The losses of CB Byron Maxwell and S Jeron Johnson look like they could at least impact this unit and bring it back from being such a dominant force unless they were already so deep that losing a couple pieces won’t hurt them at all. Overall this defense is still going to be one of if not the overall best unit in the league and always shows up when the lights are brightest.
Projected Record: 12-4
