The Atlanta Falcons have had two consecutive disappointing season now as they have had to deal with injuries, ineffective play, and defensive issues as they muddled their way to disappointing records and finishes in back to back seasons.
Preview: Offensively the Falcons have one of the solid QB options in the league in Matt Ryan but despite his solid play they have struggled to find success over their last two seasons. Julio Jones and Roddy White are going to need to get back to their previously high caliber of play for this offense to get back to where it needs to be for this Falcons team to really be a threat to do anything important this season. The RB situation for Atlanta is not great at the moment as they are relying on Devonta Freeman and Antone Smith to be their main runners in an offense that really does not emphasize the running game. The offensive line is a huge area of concern for the Falcons as the left side is not looking strong at all with Jake Matthews having a far less than stellar rookie season last year.
On defense the Falcons were a disaster last season so hopefully spending their first two picks on defense in this draft will help turn around this unit. Vic Beasley should definitely help out the pass rush as he was a monster for Clemson in his college career and should fit well into this new system. The second Falcons draftee was Jalen Collins who is a CB with height to spare who should end up starting this season opposite Desmond Trufant to form a duo that could end up being one of the better ones in the league.
Projected Record: 9-7
